Fathers-to-be ... How Do You Work With Your Midwife?

Email Print PDF

Some dads-to-be feel a bit left out by their midwife. Too often birth is considered 'women's business' and pregnant women develop very close relationships with their midwives.

However, you are the baby's father and your partner's partner. You helped create this baby and it's your job to help during your baby's birth ... by becoming a great Birth Coach.

Men have a huge advantage that is overlooked. Every man was born through a woman's birthing body. Men are hard-wired to understand birth! No woman has ever been inside a man's body. This means men become wonderful Birth Coaches with the right skills.

Men also share the same body with women ... yeh, with few exceptions. Birthing Better skills are based on our shared human body so they are simple to learn and use.

By working together during pregnancy to learn the birth and birth coaching skills you deepen your relationship that far exceeds any relationship your partner can have with your midwife who will be out of your life shortly after 'the birth'.

Your job as a father-to-be is to really know how to support and help. Your midwife is NOT the birth coach ... you are. After the birth your partner should be able to say 'I couldn't have done it without you' rather then 'I couldn't have done it without my midwife'.

You are the best Birth Coach! Learn now.

After reading what seemed like 100 books and talking with people I still felt no more aware than before. Gettin...
